AutoZone Pro – My Saved Carts
Role
Manager, User Experience and Design
Scope
Strategy → Design → Handoff
Platform
Web (B2B e-commerce)
Challenge
The existing Saved Carts feature relied on a rigid table layout that couldn’t support the new data points the business needed to surface to B2B buyers. As requirements grew, the format became a bottleneck — unable to scale with additional information and entirely non-responsive across breakpoints, leaving contractors and business buyers with a broken experience on mobile and tablet.
Process
01
Future State First
Designed the full vision of where the experience needed to go — a responsive, data-rich cart layout with product imagery and expanded information — to anchor the strategy before scoping delivery.
02
Phased Roadmap
Worked backward from the future state to define three buildable phases: MVP (responsive restructure with minimal lift), MVP+ (modal and pricing layer), and Future State (full enrichment), each designed to extend — not replace — the last.
03
Component Specs & Handoff
Defined components at every breakpoint with redlines and edit sheets, giving engineering a clear implementation path across all three phases.
Outcome
Although the feature was not prioritized for development, the design deliverable provided lasting strategic value. By mapping a clear, phased path from the current state to the long-term vision, the work aligned product, design, and engineering around a shared roadmap — ready to be activated when business priorities shift. The component foundation and redlines remain a reusable asset, reducing future design and development lift whenever the team is ready to move forward.
