Challenge
In 2017, as part of a design interview challenge, I was tasked with solving a real and frustrating travel experience — what happens when a business traveler’s flight is rescheduled for the following day, leaving them stranded without a plan? The challenge required moving from problem to solution quickly, with a focus on demonstrating end-to-end UX thinking under pressure.
Process
01
Research
Interviewed frequent flyers to understand the real needs of stranded passengers — what information they needed immediately, what decisions they had to make, and where existing tools fell short.
02
Concept, Brand & Flow
Named the product Aerotropolis and designed the logo, establishing a brand identity before moving into UX. Used research insights to map a happy path MVP experience, sketching the core user flow through wireframes.
03
Design & Presentation
Produced low-fidelity wireframes through high-fidelity mockups, and built an interactive prototype to bring the experience to life. Presented the full solution — from brand rationale to interaction design — to an interview panel.
Outcome
Aerotropolis demonstrated the ability to move from an ambiguous problem to a polished solution under time constraints — conducting real user research, synthesizing insights quickly, and delivering a presentation-ready prototype. The project showcases an end-to-end UX process from discovery through high-fidelity design.
